Role Sans is a Latin typeface family released in 2019 by Morisawa (Japan).
Ek Type foundry worked on the 11 major scripts of India— Bangla, Devanagari, Gurmukhi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Meitei Mayek, Odia, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu for Morisawa.
Role sans is designed to look serious, calm and confident and places high value on retaining individual characteristics of the different scripts while maintaining visual consistency as a part of the superfamily.
The humanist mono-lined typeface has with script-specific axis and can be used at various point sizes.
I worked on three scripts for this type family. One of them is Malayalam.
